"Beauty in danger" — Monday 9 March 2026 — 3:00 p.m. · Auditorium S. Agostino
The twelfth edition of the Sannio Philosophy Festival opened with the lectio magistralis of Dacia Maraini, a central figure of contemporary Italian literature. The event, entitled “Beauty in danger”, was held at the San Agostino Auditorium in Benevento.
The writer led the audience in a reflection on beauty as a fragile value, one to be defended in human relationships and in our relationship with the environment. The condition of women and the path of women's emancipation were also addressed.
Afterwards, at the Provincial Library, the exhibition “Views on beauty” was inaugurated, rounding off a day dedicated to the dialogue between art and thought.
