Don Luigi Ciotti

Pio Luigi Ciotti was born on 10 September 1945 in Pieve di Cadore (Belluno). The family, in search of work, moved to Turin in 1950, where they lived in the workers' huts on the building sites for the nascent Politecnico on Corso Duca degli Abruzzi, in the Crocetta district. After finishing compulsory schooling, he went on to obtain a diploma as a radio technician and, in the meantime, regularly attended the parish groups of Crocetta. Together with them, in 1965 he founded a group called Gioventù, with the aim of helping the maladjusted and drug addicts on the street
